Like clockwork, Kim Davis, the Rowan County, Kentucky Clerk who refused to grant gays, then EVERYONE marriage licenses was held in contempt of court and chose jail instead of . . . sanity.
David Bunning, the federal judge handling the case, didn’t really have to jail her, but he didn’t think simply fining her would be sufficient to stop her from practicing the bigot arts with her governmental job’s duties. So, he threw her in jail and fined her, as well.
She’s happy there, deluding herself into thinking she is just like MLK in the Birmingham Jail. Because he was fighting for the rights of the oppressed, and she was . . . fighting for her right to oppress.
Um, Kim, MLK you most certainly are not. Sigh.
The Video below is a compilation of three news videos showing public reaction to the bigot’s imprisonment. The first is her attorney playing the bigot card to their teabag evangelical nut base for their “trial in the court of public opinion” campaign.
Those don’t often change the Supreme Court’s decision, but hey, it’s fun to watch.
The next is the general public in Morehead, and the third is an LGBT couple weighing in.
